The purpose of this un-dissected deer leg is to show how the tendons and ligament work. To see what the two types of bone, spongy and compact bone look like and how they are similar and different.
Ligaments- a short band of tough, flexible, fibrous connective tissue that connects two bones or cartilages or holds together a joint.
Cartilage- a firm, elastic, flexible type of connective tissue of a translucent whitish or yellowish color; gristle.
Large bone after it's been cleaned up.
JOINTS
I think this lab was a good experience and worth the time because we got to learn things and it was fun. The most valuable thing we learned from the lab was the difference between ligaments and tendons. I think every thing should be kept the same.
